1190 - Backing up NFS shares using Redstor Pro ESE

Modified on Tue, 5 Aug at 1:18 PM

Symptom

You have data on a server which does not support Redstor Pro, but can run (or is already running) on an NFS server.

Solution

Redstor Pro Enterprise Server Edition (ESE) can be used to backup NFS shares from Linux using a supported operating system version. (See our System Requirements and Compatibility Matrix here.)

The exported directories need to be mounted to the Linux Agent machine and will be displayed as if they were present locally.

Note:

  • Unlike with our Server Edition (SE), NFS shares using ESE can be synchronous.
  • no_root_squash may be required in order to write (and therefore restore) to the NFS shares.
