Symptom
The scanning task during a Teams backup fails with the following error:
We have detected Teams components that are not currently supported. Please ask RIA or see our Support Portal for more information. |
Cause
To enable us to backup and restore Microsoft 365 data, we make use of the Microsoft Graph API. Due to Microsoft Graph API restrictions, there are certain Teams components that we do not support. If any of these unsupported components are detected in the backup selection during the scanning task of a backup, the abovementioned error will be shown.
Solution
To prevent this error, ensure that no unsupported Teams components are selected for backup. Detailed information about what is supported and not supported can be found in Article 1289 - How to backup and recover Teams.
