1393 - How to update the mail server address for e-mail reports

Modified on Mon, 21 Jul at 12:56 PM

From 10 June 2022, Redstor is introducing a cloud-based mailing solution to provide better availability and interoperability for platform reports delivered by e-mail. This will mean that the reports are sent from a new mail server.

For most customers, no action is required.

Customers who mail reports using their own domain name in the sender address, and who have added the existing Redstor mail server IPv4 addresses to their DNS Sender Policy Framework (SPF), will have to modify that information. We recommend first adding the new Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) to the record, then removing the existing mail server addresses once the cutover has proved successful.

The following addresses

  • 212.187.195.182
  • 149.6.8.162

should therefore be replaced by the new FQDN

  • mail.rbs.redstor.com

Use of the FQDN is preferred, as the underlying IPv4 addresses are subject to change.
