1515 - How to manually update a self-hosted StorageServer

Modified on Mon, 21 Jul at 1:06 PM

Updates to StorageServer software are managed by Redstor and triggered during maintenance when an upgrade is required.

Under some circumstances, a triggered StorageServer update may not complete. This could result in the StorageServer service(s) being stopped. To resolve this, go to Windows Services and start any Redstor StorageServer services that are not already in a running state.

You can now proceed to manually update the StorageServer using the steps below.

Note: Redstor will advise when a manual upgrade is required. If you have multiple service instances on a single server, the upgrade only needs to run once.

1. Locate the installer application in C:\ProgramData\Attix5 Pro\<servicename>\Installer, e.g. C:\ProgramData\Attix5 Pro\SS_Service\Installer).

The installer will be named RedstorBackupPro-SP-<versionnumber>, as shown below.

2. Double-click the installer to run it.

3. Click Next on each page until the update completes.
