The ESE agent installer that is used for backing up machines has a number of command-line options that allow you to override the default settings based on your business needs.

When deploying ESE agents from the RedApp or Storage Platform Console, the following options are among what is available:

OptionPurpose
-nSet an account name that differs from the default, which is the hostname.
-eSet a specific encryption key for the account.
-f(True/False) Enable Full System Backup on the agent (can also be set in the GUI).
-r(True/False) Enable remote access to the agent (can also be set in the GUI).
-hShow all available command-line arguments.

A command would consist of the agent installer file name, along with the settings you wish to customise.

Example:

C:\>.winlnstaller-dropzadevstg.blob.core.windows.net- xxxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxx.exe
-n MyAccountName -e EncryptionKey123 -f true -r true
