All data is transmitted securely over SSL and exclusively using port 443. The roles of IP addresses may change so it is recommended to allow the entirety of both ranges to ensure maximum service availability.
Note: For example, FSR to VMware requires a VDDK to be downloaded from our FSR resources blob storage. You will therefore need to allow a network connection to this storage address. Read more in Article 1306.
It is recommended that where possible, the use of proxy servers is avoided. All data transmitted is encrypted, compressed and de-duplicated so proxy servers offer no value in terms of caching data transmitted to improve performance. Direct routes to the backup server are always preferable where possible as they tend to produce the best throughput and fewest connection interruptions.
Content filters or security devices
If you have content filters or network security devices in place between the backup agent or Storage Platform Console and our cloud platform, please add wildcard exclusions for *.redstor.com to avoid service disruption.
