1496 - How to increase or disable the free space threshold when rehydrating archived files

Modified on Mon, 21 Jul at 12:57 PM

When archived files are rehydrated, they take up considerably more space than their stubs. While rehydrating stubs, the ESE agent therefore monitors the available disk space, and aborts when the threshold (default 1 GB) is reached.

To change the free space threshold, open the account's a5backup.properties file (usually located within C:\Program Files). Change the value of the?archiving.rehydration.free.space.threshold setting to a number of bytes. For example, to change the threshold to 2GB, set archiving.rehydration.free.space.threshold=2147483648.

Note: The specified threshold will be applied to all volumes and cannot be set per volume.

To disable the free space threshold, change the value of the?archiving.rehydration.free.space.threshold setting to -1.
