Symptom
The AccountServer service fails to start after restarting a Slave AccountServer. The following error is presented: "Windows could not start the Attix5 AccountServer Service (AS_Service) on Local Computer."
The error messages below are shown in the logs:
09:55:10.602 (6) Error: ASManager: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)
09:55:10.602 (6) Error: SPService: Unable to start server: Database server not available or database migration script error
Cause
The necessary SQL databases are not available, possibly because the StoragePlatform database or StoragePlatformReports database is stuck in "restoring" mode on the Slave AccountServer.
Solution
1. Ensure all the necessary SQL services are running.
2. Make a manual backup of the primary AccountServer database, and copy and restore it to the Slave AccountServer.
